The change in lj tos has been prompeting me to check out my dreamwidth account. I have't posted in over a year. But honestly, it wasn't even a consious decision.
How is everyone doing? What are you doing about the tos?
ps: I updated my style with google fonts . Variety is awesome :D I also changed quite a bit of other stuff on my css styles. I like it.
ps2: lj crossposting does not work anymore. Any solutions?
Anyways, I added some of you from this meme. So welcome here. I hope I won't bore you aore drift back into inactiveness again. It's so funny, a week ago I was complaining that it was so quiet and just a few days later and two new people on my flist, I could hardly keep up ;)
I'm in my mid 30ties, have been in fandoms for most of my life. I'm a dancing, reading, snuggling graphic designer and I love design and art and basically beautiful stuff. I usually post what i feel like posting or what I feel might interest you although I've fallen out of that habit a bit in the past few years.
I have several fandom related websites, such as ex-posed.com, parisnights.de and an icon journal at http://onlion.livejournal.com/ It's been ages since I updated any of these though.
Anyways welcome everyone, let's get to know one another.
This is the multi-fandom friending meme going on. Check it out.

I'm a bit behind again. I guess this was bound to happen. I have a load of work and responsibilities, christmas presents to buy and create. Just a lot of stuff to do.

But I think with the decrease of activity in general, my enthusiasm also waned. So many people who I admired and/or were close with left that it just doesn't feel like the same safe space and I feel that I don't know many of the new people as well as those that have left.
I do realize that is my own doing. I have not been cultivating relationships here. It might have to do with not having something I'm really fannish about. And I also realize that filling this place up with stories and images is what does create a home.
I also noticed that just reading and listening to english stuff and not writing things on my own has lead to my english deteriorating and I don't like that.

First of all, thank you very much for the Halloween cookies. Those made me really happy.
I could not reciprocate to all of you because lj didn't let me. I think I was a little to late and my transaction crashed in the middle and lj told me I could not do any more. It didn't let me buy them via paypal either. Maybe it was somethig to do with the changes they are making for paid accounts?
Anyways, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
As a part of me iconing again, I have set up an icon journal for myself to seperate the private stuff and the icon stuff and to give the option to people to see the art only if they choose to. I’ve made a really cool CSS stylesheet for it that I’m quite proud of using Flexible Squares and then all the lj changes the friends page look crap happened and I started to think more seriously about moving it to dreamwidth completely, so I migrated the Flexible Squares to dreamwidth with a tutorial and advanced customization, which then gave me the not so brilliant idea to create a style layer on my own complete in HTML5. And thus I became a bit obsessed with it.
However even though I made progress, I’ve shelved the project for now, because I seriously lack php and perl knowledge here and the documentation is seriously lacking for me. So I’m keeping the customizations in css for now. Do any of you have knowledge of the S2 style system? Is there an idiot guide ;)
Also I’m still trying to figure out if and how I should post old content on my icon journal. Do I post all the icons, or just the ones I like best? Do I post all the masterials in an archive post? What about the artworks and the tutorials and the downloads. I have been thinking about that for a bit and cannot make a decision.
My dreamwidth already has the css stylesheet changes. What do you think?
thanks to meret and nrrrdy-grrrl for the heads up.

Anyways, since none of us know what will happen, maybe it's not a bad thing to have a journal backup. So if any of you guys need dreamwidth invites, I have 11 invite codes.
The userinfo cost me a lot of my patience because livejournal doesn't play by normal html and css rules. The intention was to have a sort of alternate universe including some of my favorite shows. And I do think the new userinfo has sensible information. What do you think?
Anyways, what good is the carnival season if I don't use it for something good. I finished the layout this weekend! Now it works in ie6 as well. If you still find glitches or see them... if you could check it I'd be very grateful. I've cleaned the whole lj css and tweaked a lot of the base style. Would anyone be interested in using it? Because I would share it.
I've incorperated the rotating script into this layout and so far I have 7 headers so far:
- SGA: Sheppard, Vegas
- Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles
- Merlin: Merlin/Arthur
- Lost: Daniel and Sayid
- Lost: Ben and Jack
- Verbotene Liebe: Ollian
- ASWT: Luke
And will still make some others for Supernatural, SGA, Ollian, the Mentalist, How I met your mother and a few other shows I love. Maybe even Smallville and Star Trek Voyager. So comments, suggestions and critisism are welcome. Or maybe just feedback :)

ETA: wohoot! There's a new Terminator: the sarah Connor Chronicles!!
*isabundlyofnerves*
That said, I hate livejournal styles. You know why? Because the programming is so shoddy. OMG bad. I want to hurt whoever created this style I'm using for not adhering to some basic rules of HTML. My stale is still kind of wonky because of that. But look, alternating headers.
What do you think of the changes so far, do you have any ideas? the thing is, if I work my posts with HTML and not Auto Formatting it works so well, but my flist is all screwed u, because a lot of you don't. And I do understand that.
Anyways, I'm making a few changes to my lj, so this is a test entry for me.
Maj. John Sheppard: Rodney, you're drooling over a Wraith!
Dr. Rodney McKay: I know, I... disgust myself sometimes.
Happy belated birthday

ETA: how about we do this meme thing where you ask me questions and I'll try answer them as best as I can. I'm sure there is a lot you guys don't know about me and I need to watch the comment threads to design them. So if you do have questions, fire away.
That means explicit materials and youtube vids are totally off limits.
The only thing that helps me is reading the cut tags, or a describtion. You are about to view content that may only be appropriate for adults. Does not do that at all, because some of the content behind that had nothing mature or explicit about it and it largely means that to not get in trouble I will need to avoid any post labeled as such.
ETA: Via cerri and frogspace: How to avoid that adult content warning.
But the thing is, what if I have an innocent post with pic spam... and in comments we start making comments about the hotness of some ass and then it gets more explicit... Does it then need to be flagged?
I mean, I am pretty sure there are underage people on my flist but I don'T think anyone needs to be censored, I want to have fun here!!!!
And the major thing is, as I started reading fanfic, I was still underage and really, I did not care about the labels and the warnings and the, click only if you are over 18 tags. I pressed those buttons anyways. So how hard is it for a teen to just klick that button and do just that?

I finally watched the Prison Break S2 premiere. Which rocked. And more X-Files.
But that's that. Grandpa's birthday was as expected. And the *other* new piggies are there. Spent sunday brunching *g*.
Anyways, I revamped my lj to something simpler. Let's see how long that will hold. I'm sure there are still some bugs too. anyways, I like what happened to the tags page. And the layout is sort of meant to put focus on the content :)
