I think you are on a good track, too. And I'm hardly a role model.. Just do your own thing. I think it's great that you are thinking about veganism and healthy food and that you are doing something about it. Just go at your own pace. And I am here if you need me for anything, but you know that. <3
Actually, I'm stupid - a lot of the other women's shoes are only available in sizes up to 41, but the pixie boots are available in 42. So... who knows :)
I want to do some other stuff as well. I will definately change my energy provider for instance. I will use less water. You know.. stuff like that. And I found a recipe for making my own vinegar.
I'm having trouble passing on those sandels for instance. I'm always having so much trouble finding shoes that I like that.. when I really fall for some, it's quite a shock ;)
Elli - omg. I just made some raw banana cupcakes with the most incredible topping: look (http://veganitaet.blogsport.eu/2010/05/28/raw-cupcakes-rohkost-muffins-aus-bananen-und-leinsamen-mit-avocado-schoko-creme/). I am OVER THE MOON. Seriously, that topping is a million times better than the ones I usually do - with margarine, vegetable shortening and lots of sugar. I think I'm going to make the nougat cupcakes with that topping as well. Seriously, I didn't think this would work, but it did. And it's amazing. So sad you can't try one :(
So the sandals are made from leather? Did you check? If they are - well, *I* wouldn't buy them. Because no matter how pretty they are, they're a product of death and suffering.
As for the pixie boots - I really don't have the money for that at the moment, what with Rome and all. But I think they'll still be available after that, so. And you can order them in Germany here vegane Zeiten (http://www.vegane-zeiten.de/xtcommerce/product_info.php?info=p236_Pixie-Boot--Black-.html).
It was the first time I tried it - I just never expect this to work ;) Now I'm a bit more optimistic about the raw nut cheese I'm planning to make this afternoon.
It's just half an avocado, some Agavendicksaft, cocoa and a bit of vanilla. You do need a mixer or a Pürierstab, though. But it's so creamy and delicious!
Once it's strawberry season, I'm going to try and make this (http://www.theppk.com/2009/05/raw-strawberry-cheesecake/).
Well, you can still check with the sandals, then. And hey, the shoes will still be there at a later point, I'm sure! <3
And the strawberry thing looks amazing. I want to make it right away as well. And I will see what I will get first. The boots make more sense, but the sandels were in the catalogue and I fell in love with them.
I hope the cheese will turn out ok :( I think I already messed up a little and used too much liquid. But it's doing its thing now. Well, I guess the worst that can happen is that the texture is wrong.
I know! actually, now I'm going to go downtown again to buy some more - so I can use them on Tuesday. Avocados are full of good fatty acids, and it's just so much better than the buttercream stuff! I am in love with it. (And it's filling, too - I had one earlier and I'm still stuffed. May have another one for dessert later, though :) )
There are so many great foods to try! My mom sent me a book on raw foods, and there are a lot of cool blogs on that as well.
