How to implement Simple Style P1
Well, actually, implementing the simple style is quite easy. There are two ways you can do it. Actually there are more, but I will start with what I personally think is the easiest part.

  • manage >> customize >> advanced >> your styles>>

  • In the Create Style form, enter the name Elli and click on
    the create buttom.>>

  • In Style Layers, choose theme Flexible Squares and press change.>>

  • In drop-down-menue theme, choose Other... >>

  • In Textfield Layerid enter the id of the layer I created: 6742736>>

  • Press the Save Changes button.

  • You are back on the Your Styles Page>>

  • Choose the new Style and press use.

  • Now you can customize the style by using the manage >> customize >> custom options >>

  • The colors are set on Flexible Squares default, which is really not pretty, so you better do change a lot.

  • You also have the opportunity to add an additional stylesheet.

To create an external stylesheet, make sure you have chosen » Include customizations through external stylesheet yes.

Then follow these instructions. the most important addition here will be the .headerimage tag.

But it is also possible to totally change the sidebar linklists (which I will write a more detailed tutorial on) and if you do not want the tags visible, place #tagBox and li.tag-title to {display:none;}

I'm not sure if it is possible to do this for free accounts. I'm not sure if one can access the Styles that way.

ps: as you can see I redid the whole thing for Flexible Squares because if has an external stylesheet. 3column did not.

oi, i love flexisquares. Thanks for rewriting your style for it. Now I'm really tempted to try it, even though I am proud of my own layout as well. Took me long enough to customize it to my needs, after all. :)

I'll definitely check yours out. I love the different-font-sized tag list!

I love list tags period!!!!
and i do understand. No layout is really perfect in the sense that everyone can use it. Really sad.
