Honestly, my first thought was of an old spoiler: that Clark breaks Lionel out of prison to save Lana, or something. Does that make you feel better?

I can't really imagine that....especially since lana is caught in Forsaken aund not in Covenant.

Actually, the rumor I heard was that Lionel was threatening Lana from prison, saying that if Clark didn't break him out, he would kill her or something.

Compared to that, it being a key to the CoCk is almost a relief. But not. Because, damn, is Clark going to be motherfucking *pissed* if that's the case. *sniffles* Sometimes, watching Smallville is like having your organs slowly removed.

LaT and I are definitely speculating that it's the key to the chamber, but who knows? I think it's what Helen gave Lionel last year in that envelope that Lex saw them exchanging pre-wedding. It would be interesting to see Clark's reaction to that room. *g* The Rift is here, either way, but that would certainly take him aback to realize that Lex doesn't really need the memory of seeing him use his powers to know his secret. He's already got it pretty much figured out. And I think that Clark learning exactly how compartmentalized Lex can be--how he can be gathering a collection like that and you'd never have so much as a hint that it exists? Is something that the future Superman needs to see. Clark is still a *long* way from stepping his mental game up enough to play on the same field with Lex. This could be just the kick in the pants he needs.

Maybe it would be too obvious..that it's the key. I dunno. I just think that the way the room just was never mentioned again, it sorta has to come back.

And Clark's reaction. As much as I don't want it, it has to happen.

Actually, I think Clark is in denial more than anything else. In Talisman, Lex told him downright, that he knows who Clark is, what Clark is, it seemed to me he was dressing him in the end. As if he knows his role and Clarks role and understands it far better.

Clark should know by know that there are no secrets left.

So yeah...he needs to see things more clearly.
