To do list:
Find out if making it public really made it public!!!!
Creating alternating versions.

Tutorials:
How to create and tweak the CSS
How to add stuff to sidebar (like tags, more lj related links...)
How to resize the content
How to change CSS to create different sidebar links

And can anyone find layout id=6693607 when creating a 3column layout?

Well.. I forgot to add a few lj specific codes to the css.

Your style will look much better if you just delete the a:visited {} part...but alas.. I can send yopu the better code.

Do I need to change the setting of my userpic to share friends default (or whatever that is called).

I left it all on default... so whatever is fine.
