I actually wanted to make this post yesterday, but didn't do it, did not manage for some reason. I've been watching this season as every year, but I seem to become less and less interested. There were a few nice pieces though. I think Travis Wall picks such beautiful music to choreograph to.

I have this new show that I watch. I really enjoy it. It's an american reality tv show called Dance Moms. And I cannot stop. The thing is, it's so horrible and aweful and the steaeotypes. I just cannot believe people like this exist. The drama in this is so strange to me, because all the time I feel that if they just sat down and had a decent respectful chat all the drama would be gone. I know that would not make for dramatic reality tv and I bet most of it is staged. But me personally, all I care about is the dance.

Also, this competition system thing, is this something unique to the us? Every weekend those children go to competitions and win medals. I get that with sports. Like swimming. But as a teen I danced 5 times a week and the goal was to create a show on stage. It was to express myself. It was never ever a competition thing.

Now I love so you think you can dance as well and sometimes the dancers talk about having met people at competitions, so I knew before that they exist andat the last SYTYCD show Allison Holker told that her choreography was about her a Twitch. I had no idea they were dating or that they were engaged. But since I love them both I used google and they had an interview about the fact that they do competitions every weekend. So I guess that is a thing that dominates the dance worl is america. Here you audition to be on a show or a musical or something, but I've never heard that competitions exist exept maybe in street dance, but that is something that came here from the us.

Anyways, I think it's interesting. I wonder if the competitions are a good or a bad thing. They will certainly generate experience and it's something that people can put on their resume. But it also creates pressure on something that is an artform.

What do you think?

So I watched SYTYCD and I loved it a lot as always. I love dance. I didn't even mind the standart piece so much this time. They are all so good. I haven no idea who I'd want to leave. I think that last hip hop piece was the weakest. Also I didn't like Ryans frozen "happy" look. Her face was like a china doll.

This season will be aweful. I will be sad every time someone leaves!!! Also hello Robert Roldan. Hot as always.

Also I watched Spooks episode 2x02 yesterday and that was fabulous. Always happy to see Alexander Siddig. Also had intended to rewatch Dark Angel. Only my boxsets are damaged. All I can see is fractals.

Happy birthday belated birthday [livejournal.com profile] dhisana, [livejournal.com profile] candream and [livejournal.com profile] msdillydally. And happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] scribblinlenore!!! Have a great day today.
