PS: This is a rather detailed tutorial of an icon I made for capcontest. I became a bit lazy in the end though. Check it out and see what you think. Suggestions and questions are welcome.

There are several ways to crop parts of images you want to use. Usually it depends on the image you want to use and what you want to do with it later.
If you have any question or don't understand something, please ask!

Well, I've been asked for a tutorial for the Pink Lana aliens and icons. and well, I'm way too lazy ight now too write a full-blown tutorial on this. And considering I was just playing around, it would be damn hard to retrace my steps.
So I'm putting the photoshop file up for download. Might not work under Version 7.0. I don't know... the adjustmentlayers might not appear.
Anyways, the zip includes 2 files which show how different things can be with the same materials. Same layyers you can blend in to see changes... or blend out.
I hope you will have fun with this.
