So I found this Video "Drawing on the right side of the brain. And I figured it could not hurt to try. The first step was doing a selfportrait in 30 minutes. At leats the portrait resembles me a little bit.

Ages ago, some people decided to revive Livejournal with the 100things posts. I signed up for that with the topic analoge and digital drawing. Because I had hoped that it would make me draw more and be able to practise and improve my skills since all the webdesign happens in photoshop only.

Time is just always kind of preventing me from doing it and I have hardly done any drawings. In an case, I did take them time to do some while on vacation. I also included a bonus drawing I did sometime ago at [livejournal.com profile] legoline's place.

Maybe I can do this more frequently. I'm not going to pressure myself though, but I'd love to improve.

So [personal profile] lyxzen mentioned in one of my entries how much she likes sketchbooks and so do I. So much that I have been collecting inspirational images on the net. I've found all of them on behance network. I hope they will inspire some of you too.

So starting as they say, is always hard. They tell you to just do it, go for it and not be scared of the white page. Know what you want to draw.

They say there are several ways that you can hold your pen. The different way to hold the pen will change the way your lines look, how much detail you draw. I'm not listing them all here because I have decided for myself that it's mostly bogus. Or rather, the detailed describtions of how to hold the pen are. Because everyone holds a pen differently and I for one couldn't even reach my fingers and hold my arm that way without having a cramp.

So I decided to experiment my own way. Holding the pen close to the tip gives more details. If you grip your pen in the middle or closer to the back you will get broader bigger strokes. Paint from the elbow, the shoulder or the hand and see how the lines you make change.

I have drawn many many lines the past few days ;) And I'm getting better at it and have more control and a more even stroke. I also tried using a cutter instead of a sharpener, to sharpen the pen, because the individual angles will change the strokes.

Hi guy. I have changed my challenge back to the original idea. Meaning I want to relearn how to draw and scetch and paint on paper and digitally. All this making collages in photoshop has sort of decreased my ability to do this.

So I have looked for my utensils and bought a book for it sometime last week and started with some simple exercises.

I've first seen this on [personal profile] msdillydally's lj sometime last week and have decided to do it last friday. So after sleepimng over it again I've decided that I dare do a more specific challenge. As I've decided I want to relearn drawing and create digital paintings and such, I'm choosing this topic to dive into it.

This will be my attempts as well as artworks and tutorials all to help me and you get better at drawing, making sketches and so forth.
