Something is wrong with me tha I'm not enjoying this season as much as I used to.

I really loved the season opener. I think it was a great mixture of fluffy and fun and it was very fanficcy and a bit over the top. John injured and fighting for Teyla anyways. Rodney delivering the baby. Woolsy has only been awesome and I love the dynamics he has with the rest of the characters.

Don't get me wrong, there are elements I really like. Like the way they use Teyla and the baby. I didn't believe they wouldn't kill the Torrin and they surprised me there. They are watching their continuety which is really important to me.

But I wonder why even though all that is the case, I found the episodes mostly boring. Slow paced. And way more cliche then before. Less character driven and more with the effects. seem to be the only one who isn't rooting for Rodney/Keller. I hated that scenes where she talkes about him waching Carson in stasis because she didn't seem like a grown woman to me but a 16 year old girl. I could have done without Carson too and I seriously wonder if meeting Paul McGillion killed my Carson love. I'm also wondering if John is being made stupider and stupider each season. But that might also be my perception of the character. I always loved the idea that he is just hiding most of his smarts. But they did introduce the mensa thing and the math thing and well, it seems to me aside from him thinking outside the box they are just not using it anymore.

Teyla can suddenly operate ships systems. She called it "taught the basics" and well, it seemed more Mary Sueish than that in the episode. Then there is this whole Rodney holding the baby and yes, it was really cute, but I could have done without the "you'll make a great father one day" speech.

Mostly I'm just skipping too many scenes and then missing things. and gosh , I know they never really used/will use the potential the show had/has but I cannot help but wish sometimes. Mostly I just want more of John. And John and Rodney. Because John *is* m favorite and as such well, I can only hope for more episodes like doppelganger.

edit: Ok, I have to say I found the F-302s much much cooler then the puddle jumpers. I'm voting for more of those ;)

I'm enjoying the season for the most part because I think the plots are better - but I see what you mean about the loss of character driven episodes. And really, my main reason for watching SGA is the characters, so hopefully they'll tone down the explosives here shortly.

I'm completely with you on the Rodney/Keller. I really try to like her, but the way they seem to be throwing her character around as the go-to-girl for match ups irks me.

And omg, yes! to the sudden Teyla knowledge. I was with them in the beginning, even excited that they'd finally shown her as more than just two hands and a stick, but they took it past the point of believability for me.

So, yes, more John.

Yes, that is my reason also. And I don't think the plots are better myself. But maybe because I never felt they were that good.

I like Keller as a singular character and I think I might have liked her with Ronon and I actually did like the beer scene from last season because it was organic. But this one wasn't.

And yeah. I don't think she could have learned all that.

Haha, true. The last episode just hit all my little AU loving buttons - even if I did wish for a bit more in depth information on the alternate realities. I'd have adored an entire episode or three about the "other Sheppard" 's Atlantis and who those aliens were. Or the "other team" they found dead.

It all feels forced to me - or I'm just really selfish with Rodney. Probably.

Well..I love the basic idea... I just think they could have done more.
