SGA 4x06 - Tabula Rasa

This season is awesome!!! I loved the episode a lot. I loved the eerie quality of it. The Memento-like storyline with it's flashbacks that is slowly unraveling facts and I loved the dynamics with the characters. John and Ronon, Teyla and Rodney, Rodney and Sam, Teyla and Sam.

I loved Ronon being smart and figuring things out right away. Teyla being really level headed with Rodney. Sam and John working well together.

Lorne and the polaroid of John was a great touch. Rodney writing on himself and taping himself so he doesn't forget. And of course I loved all the slashy undertones.

But here's the thing. I really dislike Katie Brown. Which mostly has to do with the fact that I cannot stand watching Brenda James. But not the only reason.

I mean, how much time has passed from Duet to Sunday and them from Sunday to this episode? I really cannot take it seriously and I don't buy this big love story for Rodney that Joe Malozzi always says it is.

This forced happy cheery first scene seemed forced to me.

They are so not in a relationship that has been going on for quite a while. Because had they been? They would have talked normally and not like they are on crack and Rodney would have known where Katie had been.

WORD! We are supposed to believe that they have been dating for two years. And Rodney still doesn't behave like the Rodney we know when he is around her? What's up with that? I don't like that he's pretending to be someone he is not and that she is *buying* it. I don't know, that makes me angry on her behalf.

However, I really like Teyla and Ronon in this episode, even more so than Sam and John with their joint leadership or Sam and Rodney with their 'lets avoid the soldiers' act. And don't forget Zelenka, his paranoia, and Lorne on speed! This episode was made of win!!! (John's first thought is Where is McKay? How could that possibly get any better? *squeeee*)

Well, let's say they took a break after Duet and started again shortly before sunday. I still don't see it.

It's just, I have no explanation for it that makes sense to me. And I don't think Rodney is pretending to be someone he's not. I think we are supposed to see him trying to be a nicer person for her sake, because he cares about her? But then, the time that's passed never leaves a relationship in such a stage.

Lorne on speed!!! I didn't see it that way but you are so right!

And yeah... I realyl want some weird coming out fic that starts with John realizing what he feels to trying to deal with it and Rodney is all oblivious and doesn't realize and just thinks he is so hetero sexual and doesn't even consider that he is jealous.
