Yum Yum
I had this fpr breakfast. And lunch. And right now *yum*. I'm celebrating my computer parts arriving this evening. I'm celebrating the possibility of tons of fanart and icons. I just hope I can make some time before DECEMBER!!! OMG, all my time is planned away.

Anyways, all materials are my own, except the muffin. ;)

I've been trying to revamp my webpages and am having a really hard time. With everything! With the sorting, with the structure, with the content. What to put on it. How to make it accessible. I'd love to have an interchangeable stylesheet like www.csszengarden.com. But that is basically as far as I am. I want updating to be simple, too. So I thought maybe just one structure for all sections (fanart, icons...).

Then I had this gallery idea. I'd love to integrate searchable tags as well, but I'm not sure how to do this for a website. There is also the question of a merge of my fannish pages and my professional portfolio. Anyways, ideas would be very very welcome. What would you like..and what would you like to see.

Also, what happened to [livejournal.com profile] fatuorum??? :(

Mmmmmm muffins. They look good and yummy.

As for your webpages, I feel your pain as I am in the process of revamping colordrop myself and I don't know what to do either. I think the most important thing in a website is a clear, logical and easy-to-navigate structure as it usually gets tiring very quickly when you're being thrown from one page to another without really getting anywhere.

And I admire you for your bravery if you want to have an icon section - I don't think I'll ever have one considering how many I've done - because it's so demanding, time consuming, complicated, etc. For icons, a tag navigation would be good indeed.

Otherwise, if it were me, I'd keep the professional and fannish separate. You can always include a link somewhere - create a sort of link loop - but I wouldn't merge the two.

Yes, I totally agree about structure! It needs to be clear where you are and how you got there.

And I have an icon site now! Not totally up-to-date, but it is there. It's just not done in a way that it's easy to update, so right now..it isn 't useful. And besides, I learned so much at work, it would be a shame not to use it!

Sometimes I wonder if maybe the lj is enough, but I don't like having just that!

and I guess the issue with the portolio is the digital art... it sort of belongs in both!

I had completely forgotten you had an icon site already *hangs head in shame* It still doesn't change my previous comment: I'm in awe of you heroism.

Sometimes, when you talk about your work, I envy you like you wouldn't believe. I like my job, I do, but oh boy, I wish I could lead a double life sometimes.

And what I meant about keeping the two separate is that maybe you don't want to have a Smallville or Stargate collage in the middle of more serious stuff, that's all. You could always have the muffins though, everybody likes muffins. It really depends what you want to show in your professional portfolio I guess, and since I'm not being useful, I'll just shut up now. :)

*G* Because I haven't updated it in ages and sometimes it feels like it's good that some icons haven't been seen by some people *cough*

But be glad you don't have my job. Very often, the wish to be creative after work is non-existent. Or rather, the urge to sit in front of the PC. I'm hoping the new computer will change that again. Cos I DO miss it.

And I agree... that was the reason that I kept both seperate!

And you are useful, helping me sort my jumbled ideas a bit..very good!!! *g*

Contentwise.. there is just so much stuff. I'm most unsure how to sort the materials. Scans, Textures, Stock, etc..... I have different sorts of terxtures too.. stock textures collaged textures...etc. icon textures... it is all giving me a grand headache!
