Monitor Help
I want to buy a new Monitor, but I'm honestly not sure what to get. I'm already failing at the decision to either buy a TFT or a normal old school Monitor.

If you have a TFT, how is your experience with that? For watching vids, for using photoshop, for surfing, etc....I know a few basics, I know in theory what the difference is. But what is your experience.

I would really appreciate some input *kisses*

I switched to a TFT last week and I love it. Especially for watching vids and surfing. I don't photoshop much lately so I can't say about that but the colors a brilliant, and look not much different from my old monitor except for the brilliance that is, and it's all sharp and nice. But of course all adjustable. All in all it feels more comfortable to stare at =)

The resolution on a TFT is native meaning whatever you buy you can't change the resolution, I got myself a 19" widescreen with a resolution of 1440.900 (depending on your graphic card you'd have to change it manually or get a program to switch). I'd not go for smaller than 19". Though it's up to you whether widescreen is useful or not but you can use to programs in two windows next to each other if that's of use for you.

Oh and I bought the Acer AL1916W at Amazon.

Hope this helps.

Really? He, well I guess it's pretty popular due to the good price and good recommendations at Amazon and everywhere else I checked. I sure do love that thing, plus the space it leave on the desk compared to my old monster 19" monitor? Awesome!

I bought it largely based on the recs at Amazon, and in a computer mag. And yes, the amount of space it freed up is bliss - it's also so lovely and light in comparison to my old 19" monitor, which nearly broke my back when I got rid of it!

Well..for watching vids I can always use my laptop..so that isn't an issue... the space however, is.

And it does help :)
