The reason I got hooked on Veronica Mars was the mystery. Or rather, the mysteries. I love the idea of a good detective story. I love it in books, and I definately love it here. Number two was, that I can, a little bit, see myself in Veronica. Point three, was the cast. Fuck, I dunno, but I don't like Veronica as a character the way I like Lex. But Kirsten Bells acting just blew my mind away. And the rest of the cast rocked a lot too.
But there is a big difference in how I feel about the show now and how I used to feel about it.
It all lies in this phrase.
I used to hate Logan. Seriously. He was the worst asshole I#ve ever met and I met quite a few.
And this is a the core issue of the series, or rather, the core strength. The ability to evolve under our eyes in a way that seems impossible and still have it be possible.
I had a discussion a few months back about LoVe (Logan/Veronica) which basically pondered the possibility and it was said, not by me, that for the near future, said person couldn't imagine LoVE. I'm going to fast...dammit.
Us girls, I think we like tortured characters and we like the idea of being a saviour, in a way, maybe, I might be mistaken but I don't know what it is about Logan, but the need to hug him. The show unwraps slowly, but surely, the story behind Logan's family. So the question is, is Logan's asshole demeanor just a facade, a method of coping and protection? Or is a part of him really an asshole. In flashbacks, we see him as gentler and kinder. We see him as friend and lover and as a guy who genuinely cares for his friends and girlfriend. Ihave a thing for chartacterslike that. Just say Tom Paris, or say Lex, they have in a way, a similar background, they are even all rich kids.
Anyways, I think Veronica rechanges her opinion of him after eavesdropping on his counselling session and to me right then, all bets about this coupling were off. And in a way it's like gravity and as we change our mind about Logan, so does Veronica. Last ep she stated, she made out with a guy she hates. I don't think she realizes that she doesn't anymore and I feel that this has been the case for quite some time or her reaction to him reading the files on her computer would have been different. And let's not forget that regarding Logan, she made the first step. she kissed him first. Honestly, I don't think she knows what she is feeling. And I think that both of them are rushing into that relationship way too fast and that just maybe, Veronica cannot be for Logan what he needs her to be. At least not until she cleared away some of her own baggage.
Personally, I think logan had to do with her being rufied, not with the rape, and that his involvement will destroy something in the relationship they both share.
Also, just a little fangirl moment, but wasn't last eps kiss the hottest thing ever. wowsies. I have a thing for forehead touching. Is it tuesday yet??????????????
Oh and last week I pondered in a discussion in another lj, if Weevil maybe is the killer. What do you think?
