Exodus- spoilers inside
First of all..this episode truly rocked!

Recap:
Let's see if I get it together. Jor-El speaks to Clark through the ship (the effect rocked!!). Tells him he has to do what he says. Clark tells him he doesn't want to do that cos he's happy were he is but Krypton Daddy has other plans and tells him to make up his mind till next night.

Lex confesses to Helen about stealing the blood sample. She cannot forgive him and leaves. Lex tells Clark the wedding is off after Clark finds out about the caves having been taken over from Lionel. Later Helen comes back. Somewhere in between Lex catches Helen with Lionel. both claim that Lionel tried to make helen call of the wedding again.

Jor-El tells clark to follow his destiny or the people he care about will die (what...no Lex?). Clark comes up with a plan to destroy the ship using the kryptonite key Lionel created.

Since Clark is late for Lex's wedding and Lana comes to tell them that he has to do something rist...they head back home, only to be caught in the wake of the explosion and Martha looses her baby.

Jonathan lectures Clark about thinking about the consequences of his actions and clark, distraught....decides to leave, using the Kryptonite ring in chloes officeto drug himself.

And don't forget poor Lex, one minute he's married..with his wife in the jet sipping champagne, the next he is about to crash int the ocean all alone.....

to be continued............ ack!!!

Thoughts:
I give this a straight a or a- for plot contradictions.

Jor-El is damn cool. Kinda like the fact that this is different from canon. the effect with the ship transforming into earth was damn neat.

I didn't mind the clana...well..I never really did cos i like romance in general. this was one of tom Welling best performances to date. Specially when he stands in that crater and Lana comes. And when he is in the torch office with Pete. All the tension!

Lionel was downright creepy. what does he know!!!

Lex finally does the right thing and gets a kick in the ass.
The minute Helen comes back after breaking it off, I know she was playing the poor guy...well..I suspacted before..way when Lex showed her the obsession chamber.

Clark shoul have waited till after the wedding..but well....it was probably better planning wise...since then logically his parents would not be there....no such luck anyways.

Help me smash Clark? the guy never uses his brains!

Jonathan's reaction is more than understandable, but clark..you just cannot run away. take responibilty!

Did you think that Lionel agreed with Helen about trying to coerce her way too fast??
I suspect she drugged Lex on the plane..with that champagne glass.

And last but not least. chloe. I think she's trying to play Lionel. Otherwise..she had a major character change overnight.

Sure I forgot tons..lol....Pete was good too...but man..he should have stopped clark...or at least btalkedsome sense into him.

side not: superman referrence on Berlin, Berlin. Lomao. superman and Lana versus Superman and lois!

Lionel, I'm sure, knows everything--he has to by now!! His every indication is that he knows just about all there is to know.

mmm...I thozght while watching this one scene, that Helen gave the letter to Lionel and not the other way around. Maybe it was the key to this one room...
I just cannot imagine her sharing it. I always thought she wanted to make her name on a huge scientific find.
Well..we'll see. Maybe she really was bribed. Dunno what her motivation is... and when this Lionel thing happened..since there was a confrontation with him two eps before. I wonder why Lionel lost control like that to Pete too...

Thought Pa Kent's reaction was a little harsh--emotionally understandable, but I don't think Clark or anyone could've foreseen the consequences, because it was, like much in Smallville, a freak accident.

I only agree partly. Yes, his reaction was harsh, however Clark knows deep down that Bo doesn't mean it like that and he's not helping them, he's running away. Taking Red Kryptonite prooves that to me. Ok, maybe he really beleives that he causes harm. maybe not...

I have another theory added...maybe it's farfetched!

That's an extremely interesting point regarding Helen--if a big part of her ambitions related to Clark, that would certainly create a whole new playground for chaos!
Cool and fascinating observation there, Lil'L!

Regarding Clark's behavior in reaction to Pa Kent and vice versa, I do agree that Clark is at fault to some degree, but only to a certain extent, and I agree even more so about his need to run from the responsibility and consequences, especially when it should be obvious that his parents are emotionally distraught and that is affecting their behavior and attitude.
It is a situation of a double-edged sword, I believe. No one is really right and no one is really wrong--at least, not completely, and this leaves the issue up for ethical debate, where the line drawn is a blurry one at best.
The whole paradox notion applies--Clark was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. Anything else is more or less guess work.

Well..it was always my guess..but it sorta contradicts with canon..I mean, why would she give Lionel something otherwise?

I agree aboout the Kent men....there a both at fault and not to fault...it's a no-win situation, but they both could have reacted better and prevented what happened.

That might contradict canon, but then again, so does much of the season finale, honestly!

And yes, I have to agree with you about the Kent men! But how true to life that overreactions cause worse repercussions and it accumulates and gets bigger and more terrible. It seems frighteningly real in that aspect.

I think it's all about communication....and miscommunication... and the fact that clark seems to be very inept emotionally... either the casue of isolation..or his alienness...

mm---the helen thing..mmm

ps: fanfic thoughtss.....

Well, teenagers are emotionally unstable, constantly undergoing ruthless turmoil at that age, and I think they are making him normal in that respect--how many teens do not feel isolated or alienated, and that's without being from another planet! :)

And yes, all of this brings fanfic thoughts! In fact, it could cause a creative overload, which may explain the burst of activity in my brain as well as others :)

No kidding. Although I think with clark being clark...that's extra turmoil!
