This morning did not start well. I forgot to set my alarm last night and it was very lucky that I atually woke up on time not to be to late for work. It's even colder today than it was yesterday and I really regret not byuing a warm coat like I had originally planned. But it might be too late now.

In any case, [livejournal.com profile] untitledno8 and Greg introduced me to spotify a way back. I've been omplaining for months how I couldn't find new and good music and it annoyed me greatly. So I've tried the radio channels for alternative and indie music and found some music that I liked.

Now I also found a wonderful way to share with with you with a spotify embed. I hope it also works if you don't actually have the programm. You can tell me.

15 songs )

You can embed music yourself using this link . In an case, I hope you enjo the songs. And if you've got music that you think I should hear, hit me with it ;)

A few weeks ago, a guy from the lomo walk who knows I love jazz music, asked if I wanted to come with to the Leverkusener Jazztage to see the dude who made second plate at eurovision, Kurt Elling and Kyle Eastwood. Anyways, two guys didn't ring a bell for me, but I love Kyle Eastwood, he's a marvellous bass player.

The only thing was, the tickets were really expensive, I didn't know how I felt about going to a concert with a bunch of dudes, I have a LOT of work at work and so I had trouble making up my mind. Espcially because I had to leave work early because of the stupid train. And as I mentioned, it was expensive.

Anyways 30 mins prior to my pick up, I decided to go. The guys picked me up (I didn't even have to drive myself).. and off we went. At the location, a guy furiously was waving around is ticket, claiming how he had a second one and didn't know what to do with it. I asked him how much he wanted and he just said he wouldn't be able to get rid of it anyways and gave it to me for FREE! I was quite flabbergasted.

Kyle was first and very very awesome. He had three different basses as pictured and the one he used first really surprised me. All the musicians were very good.

Three was also very brilliant. But Kurt Elling was boring as hell. He was slick and sort of vegassy. He kept winking at everyone and callignt hem sexy. It made me shudder quite a bit. Just not my cup of tea. Also he talked too much. The italien guy was quite good. I keep forgetting the name. Not my music personally, but the guy has skill and it was fun.

That said... going there with the guys was fun. And very relaxed. So my concerns about it were unwarrented. I'm glad I went. Even if it was last minute.

ps: the pics aren't mine. It was forbidden to film or photograph.

  • Fringe has been renewed!!!! Let's celecrate!!
  • If you haven't had the chance to see it, go view [livejournal.com profile] newkidfan's new vidlet. Itt's called Hindsight and is about Kirt and Blaine from Gleee. As always it's brilliantly edited, and has great sound. Itz's a must-see not just for Glee-fans.
  • New Captain America trailer. Still looking damn fabulous!!
  • Check out Eat Smarter. It's quite a cool site which also has lots of vegan recipes or ones that can be adapted as such easily. Most importantly it's got great pictures and describtions.
  • Did not go to the concert. Fell asleep on the couch watching Germany's next topmodel. It sucks a lot more than it ever as before. Am still very tired.
  • Cannot wait for Kaizer's Orchestra gig tonight. His hotness commands. Want to bet if Janove takes off his shirt?
  • Fish of the late Cooper Temple Clause has a new gig. It's called Red Kite and you can check out a few songs here. I quite like them. I miss the Coopers a lot though.

Yesterday evening, [livejournal.com profile] untitledno8 and me headed to the Savoy Theater to listen to Olafur. It's sort of classical indie music. He's a very previous dude from iceland. You just want to take him home and keep him safe. He's so shy. It's endearing.

I loved the projections a lot he did during the concert. Especially the ones with the bird and the mobile who fly free and the rain ripping down. It was awesome. It's really music for the soul.

I added two vids to this post as well as photos I tookfrom the concert and the theater. You can see those behind the cut.

Went to see The Boxer Rebellion in the underground in cologne last night with [livejournal.com profile] half_lit_world and [livejournal.com profile] in_arcadia_ego. The first band was called Charter. We had no idea they even had a second, but they were very good and we even bought the ep after. They were a band from Berlin.

Boxer were awesome also. It's just a shame they played so many new songs, because I'm particularly fond of the old ones. We have this place surrounded made me swoon!

The sound though wasn't very good this time. I gt myself a very awesome band shirt as well. And took some experimental pics around the location and of the concert.

Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] charlidos and [livejournal.com profile] goth_clark!

Gosh, I'm so officially almost 30. How did that happen? I cannot be almost 30. Nor do I look or at almost 30. In any case I had a nice weekend with friends. Went to the Stammtisch Saturday night and had a good time chatting with everyone there. Some of the ladies stayed to wish my a midnight happy birthday and [profile] untitledno8 made me this awesome birthday cake. It's with strawberry and creme with tiramisu.

Went to Woytons on sunday to relax and chat some more. I spent a very relaxed and quiet birthday the way I wanted it and even managed to work on my mcshep match.

Thank you to everyone who sent me a message and wished my a happy birthday. That meant a lot.
Also thank you to [profile] realproof, [personal profile] animotus and [personal profile] berlinghoff79 especially.

Today was the first day back to work after two weeks absense. I want to go back and have a vacation seriously. I've had a stomach ache the entire day and a tension headache. I made one and a half layouts and had a curry sausage. I first thought my stomach ache came from hunger. It feels like hunger pain. But I have no idea. We will see. Tomorrow I have my quarterly evaluation meeting. Happy times. Not.

I had intended to go to Ikea today to get some work tables and shelves. But I just couldn't be arsed, so I watched True Blood, Leverage and So you think you can Dance instead.

Post five or more songs starting with the letter you receive. I was given J by [personal profile] melloniel.

So I finally did what I've been planning for over a month!!!!! Spent an entire day at home. With noone for company but me. It started with sleeping as long as I want, and then staying in bed loads longer, just dozing. It continued with a veeery long shower, a bit of laundry and some bread in front of the PC.

My internet connection didn't work. And I'd later find out that my brother pulled the plug on it. His computer is damaged and he needed the connection for his razor. WTF. Anyways, I started listening to music. Muse, Bloc Party, Michael Jackson, Killers, Depeche Mode. Kaizers Orchestra, the Dirty Dancing 2 Soundtrack. *sighs*

And then I spent almost all day watching TV. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cerri44, I am now caught up on Lost, Studio 60, Gilmore Girls, Heroes and Prison Break. I love Prison Break much more than last season and Heroes improved lots from the pilot. I love it. Not just because Greg Grunberg is in it :). I really really want to make icons.. and hopefully soon, I've sorted my computer enough to do it again. I also rewatched SGA: The Return yet again! *sighs*

Also, [livejournal.com profile] nichtdiemaama joined me for the party of hell friday night. Which was cooler than I thought it would be, but then I wasn't bored chatting to S. Except that everyones favorite topic seemed to be beer. And getting drunk in weird places and then not remembering what those places were like. If I wanted to get drunk, I wouldn't travel for it. *g* I'd do it at home.

Saturday, we sorted more stuff out. My bro almost singlehandedly cleaned out the attic. The whole thing generated a lot of junk, which let to a lot of scans. *YAY* Lateron [livejournal.com profile] cerri44 joined me for insanity, whicb meant [livejournal.com profile] cerri44 pushing a button ;) And well... food!!!!!! *yum*.

Which is basically always. I do not mind emberassing myself.. actually, I do, but I cannot help doing it either.

So yesterday was most awesome. It started with fun at work. Bosses got us icewatersticks. And my sitting group is so much fun. We tease each other to death. The new guy will be coerced as well. He still is kinda quiet. Alas..that will CHANGE!!!!

Anyways, we went to Dortmund yesterday to see Chikinki. We meaning [livejournal.com profile] kia_ora, [livejournal.com profile] shruuf and [livejournal.com profile] cerri44. I did something I rarely do..which is dress sexy. I was very conscious of it the entire evening as well. lol. Basically it was a top ith straps which underlined my assets.. lol... It wasn't whory or anything (not like other people we saw). the ladies looked really nice as well.

anyways, First we saw Poland against Germany. The most exciting match so far, imo. Made an ass of myself by screaming, you idiot at the screen, quite loudly. lol... but I cannot whatch football without cursing at the screen. I mean, how is it possible to have 20 chances at a goal, at least and not get one in!!! Morons!!! They did play rather well..as did the polish team..and in the end there was a goal, which really set the mood for the rest of the night.

The first gig was sister love. And the music wasn't bad but the singer-lady had the most aweful, pain inducing nerve-wrecking voice ever. Seriously. urg...

Also, got a little omg he's cute thing on this guy. and I'm so shy, I did not chat him up. He kinda had eyes like Jeffrey Dean Morgan *g*. But in retrospect I'm glad. It figures he had to be amongst the drunken dudes who stepped on my foot during the Chikinki gig.

Which was, btw, the best Chikinki gig ever. did I mention Ed looked sexy. Cos he did. And Rupert was swining a Germany scraf around is head and being his usual cracky self.

We stayed a lot longer after and chatted with him. He really is a people person and takes a lot of time. I think that's loveley.

Got home real late (birds and sun already) and slept way to little. Been cleaning the house until now cos my parents are coming tonight. Made macaroni stew, the best dish ever. Only downside is, all the fannish things I wanted to do today,I didn't manage. I want to make icons..and finish the layout, read fic and I want to badly make a music post. That would be so cool. I want to share some goodies!!!!! and I got so much stuff I wanna do really.

Haven't read my flist yet either, I hope you didn't write too much.

Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] cheights. You rock. I'm so gald I found you again. And from my very first fandom ever.
Also happy belated birthday [livejournal.com profile] lexalot, [livejournal.com profile] chain_lightning and [livejournal.com profile] lambourngb. I hope you had a great birthday.

This weekend was cool. I mean, besides the not working on the style contest and the not sleeping, it rocked majorly.
Cos a ) I spent the majority of Sunday watching SGA!!! And drooling over Shep. And over McShep. And thinking god..he's so pretty. And thinking... dude, they are so doing it and thhings like..you just need to lean over?

Anyone who doesn't see the McShep is blind!!!!!!!

Also, Firday was spent out with friends. I finished Prison break and House, too. And Lost. And My Name is Earl. I looove my shows!!!! And I read McShep fanfic. Grogeous stuff. One particular story by seperis comes to mind.

I was a bit flist lazy though... I plan on catching up. But maybe I should be grateful I missed whatever sga hate there was.

[livejournal.com profile] nichtdiemama spent the better part of the weekend at my palce and we spent loads of time at Media Markt just looking around.

Yesterday we went to Open air Werden. Which was soooooooo cool!!!!! YESSSS!!!!!!!!! Because all my girls were there.!!!!! I haven't really seen Chic in some time so it was just good to see her. [livejournal.com profile] cerri44 came as well...which was really awesome and not just because she's now fangirling on Kaizers Orchestra!!! *giggles*

I had loads of fun. Loads. Which means I probably seemed insane, but I do not really care. Janove is teh sex. He moves like a god!!!!

Oh, why am I not home? Cos it seems more sga specials are surfacing, I just saw a link to the Rodney McKay profile. The equivalent to the Becket profile. I wants!!!!!! Don't spoil me for it k?

ETA: the Kaizers Shirt I bought!!! It FITS!!!!

Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] herohunter and [livejournal.com profile] kattiya... Wish you all the best. I hope you still feel the mojo, Kat :)

So, I'm really excited about this icon post cos there are some recent experiments in there I made last and this weekend that I'm really proud of. Then, there are icons I made ages and ages ago, a long time, really. This is ALL the rest I have been sitting on, except for the requests. Some icons are are from request sets.. Signe and Kate might recognize them :)

And as you can see, I'm a bit addicted to SGA. And white space.

SEVEN SONGS: In your LJ, list seven songs you are into right now; no matter the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good. They must be songs you're really enjoying this week. When you're done, tag seven people on your friends list to see what they're listening to.

1. Bill Evans- Swing Hop
2. Franz Ferdinand- Cheating on You
3. Yes- Roundabout
4. Tom McRae- Stronger Than Dirt
5. David Garfield and Friends- Lowdown
6. Interpol- Evil
7. Kaisers Orchestra- D'Dagen

tagging [livejournal.com profile] littledrop, [livejournal.com profile] kwerkee, [livejournal.com profile] half_lit_world, [livejournal.com profile] gambits_rogue, [livejournal.com profile] sarahjane12, [livejournal.com profile] elsmoka and [livejournal.com profile] mecurtin!

I should really do stuff about music more often. since I really do listen to an aweful lot. If you want to know something about the artists or songs there, or want to listen to one, don't hesitate to ask.

Did I mention I electroshocked myself today. Not nice! Supernatural now.

Oh and [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis has a cool new fic and art challenge called Creature Crack Challenge, which gave me an evil plot bunny... way too vague... but I already researched the animal. lol. I still have that little ficlet to work over.

Gip..really old john icon...but I still love it... it came from my first lj layout header idea.
